Williamsburg Persian Rose

“A rich, intense color with extremely good covering power. Like an old world rose with a slight cool, bluish glow, but with a heart of orange.” -Williamsburg

This color is part of their Signature Color series: “Throughout Williamsburg's history, exploration and experimentation have led to the development of several unique colors. The Signature Colors set contains 8 colors representative of these discoveries.”

This color has been reformulated several times due to Golden’s research. The pre-2015 formulation was PW6 PW4 PO73 PV19 and it changed to PW6 PW4 PR112 PY154 PV19. They reformulated it again in 2018 to remove the zinc. In 2023, Golden published a study on lightfastness interactions with white. As a mixture, this color does not appear to have been specifically mentioned, however it is worth noting that Golden published groundbreaking lightfastness testing in various white colors. Please bear in mind that while this color has improved dramatically through the reformulations, it only has an estimate of ASTM II LF, and so while we wish it were even more lightfast, we’re glad for the improvement. It’s hard to get a LF match in the high chroma notes of this color space.
