Natural Pigments Rublev Colours Artists Oil Colour Blue Black

This paint is a blend of pigments, one of which is Prussian Blue. As a note on the lightfastness of Prussian Blue, Natural Pigments and Golden have led the way in testing the lightfastness of this pigment. Some of Natural Pigments’ early/preliminary results showed that the lightfastness of PB27 may be especially affected by the use of various mixing whites. Prussian Blue may yield different lightfastness ratings when mixed with various white pigments. Please see the most current information. “A deep black with cool bluish tints. The name appears in the catalogs of artists’ colormen circulated in the nineteenth century where it is often listed as a mixture of bone black and Prussian blue …Some references describe it as charcoal black, which may have been derived from charred vine cuttings or wood charcoal.
