Winsor and Newton’s Cadmium Lemon is rather cool (a balanced primary-yellow hue that leans a tad toward the greens in comparison with ever so slightly warmer Williamsburg Cadmium Yellow Light). The hue is similar to M Graham’s cadmium yellow light around 7.5Y. Winsor and Newton’s naming scheme for cadmiums is a bit different as their most current line does not appear to specify a cadmium yellow “light.” The line jumps from Cadmium Lemon to Cadmium Yellow, and then down to Cadmium Yellow Pale— which is akin to other brands’ Cadmium Yellow Medium.
