Yellow Ochre natural
There are many different forms of Raw Sienna, and this is one of our favorites for a go-to Raw Sienna on the palette. In hue, this one is fairly orange in tints (in contrast to some others such as Winsor and Newton’s). For reference, M Graham’s variety might be just a little oranger in the the tints. Though we should bracket this conversation of orangeness by saying that none are as orangy as Rublev’s Orange Ocher in either tints or masstone. For a reliable medium-bodied Raw Sienna, this is a lovely paint.
This color is part of Williamsburg’s Traditional Color series: “An ideal starting place for artists who are interested in exploring a more traditional range of colors.”
