Yellow Ochre natural
Williamsburg’s French Yellow Ochre Deep has an elegant matte finish and a gritty texture under the palette knife. Despite its ochre-opacity, this paint reveals a gemlike behavior when glazed. In masstone and tints it is perhaps closer to a Raw Sienna, however in tints it is not as orange or rosy as some Raw Siennas. This masstone is notch deeper in value than several more standard ochres (such as Williamsburg’s Yellow Ochre Domestic, Rublev’s Blue Ridge Yellow Ocher and Vasari’s Yellow Ochre which could all be classified together) and this gives French Yellow Ochre Deep a certain richness. A specialty yellow ochre, this paint has both warmth and mysterious sophistication.
This color is part of their French Earths Series."Our French Earth Colors provide even more depth to our offerings of natural earths coming from regions with historical importance. Natural earths provide a type of texture, physical presence and subtlety of color that synthetic iron oxides simply cannot provide”
