RGH’s Cadmium Yellow Extra Deep is a darker color version of Michael Harding’s Cadmium Yellow deep, or perhaps even some of the brighter varieties such as Schmincke’s Cadmium Yellow Deep, or Old Holland’s. Our first tube was is a very different color than most paints labeled Cadmium Yellow Deep in other brands, and may even be a nice starting point for the first step into shade as part of a shadow series. This color is a very strong tinter and goes orange in tints. Our tube was a little darker than what we would normally expect, however this was an intriguing quality. There may be color variation from batch to batch.
