This is a gritty ochre which is aptly named. In hue this color was similar to other Lemon Ochres and its color approximated some of the older earth tones in our paint boxes though the texture was different. It’s a bit hard to describe, but the hue is a bit more toward the yellows than some of the more (comparatively) orange or brown ochres that are usually labeled Yellow Ochre. Something to note is that this paint is soft and gritty. The large particle size of this paint is a notable feature. Overall if you like textured earths, this is a luscious yellow ochre that we’d highly recommend.
