Brown Iron Oxide
A truly wonderful umber and one of our favorites. This incredibly versatile paint is a warm, dark umber. This color pairs well with the cooler Cypress Raw Umber dark. These two paints can be used to steer a mix one way or the other—warmer or cooler. Cyprus Burnt Umber Warm does an excellent job of muting other pigments while lowering the lightness of the mix.
As with all umbers it may be helpful to educate oneself on the phenomenon called sinking in.
