Brown Iron Oxide
A cool and deep raw umber, this paint is terrific in mixes, and successfully lowers the value of many colors without causing very much hue spiral (in contrast with black). Alongside Cypress Burnt Umber Warm, which can be used to create warmer hued mixes when needed, this is a phenomenal paint color for color mixing.
As with all umbers it may be helpful to educate oneself on the phenomenon called sinking in.
