Unfortunately PR83 has been discontinued. How long a given manufacturer will be able to offer a paint with the original formulation will depend on how much of this pigment they have in reserves. Update: according to Holbein’s materials, this color has been discontinued. The brand codes for this paint are H023 for a 20ml tube, H223 for a 40ml tube and HH223 for the 110ml tube. All three sizes are discontinued. This Alizarin Crimson is also described as Alizarin Lake, and they list the C.I. number 58000 for the pigment (PR83). Holbein assigns it a three-star permanence out of four (***). In the Munsell system the color is listed as being 2.5R 2.4/6.5
