Please Note: Winton pigments for Scarlet Lake are not the same as Winsor and Newton Artists’ Oils for Scarlet Lake. The Winsor and Newton website lists Winton’s Scarlet Lake as PR188, and not PR255, which is the pigment used in their Artist’s Oils. This Winton Scarlet Lake is a Napthol Color. We advise doing your own lightfastness tests on all colors when mixed with white, and one of the areas where we especially recommend this are the Napthols. This color is hard to find and may not be widely available.
