Quinacridone Orange
Quinacridone Burnt Scarlet
As a deep chromatic low note that is hard to replace, this color will be missed.
This color is a reformulation of a previous version of Quinacridone Gold Brown. In 2015 Williamsburg changed the older formulation, which used PY83, and substituted this with PO48. This change was discussed in detail in their Just Paint Newsletter: “Please note that a new blend is also being introduced for Quinacridone Gold Brown using PO 48, an ASTM rated Quinacridone Gold, in place of the previous PY 83. While both mixtures earned a GOLDEN LF of Excellent, removing PY 83 should further increase its durability and allow it to eventually conform to an official ASTM I rating.” -Just Paint “https://justpaint.org/beauty-and-the-best-wrestling-with-changes-in-williamsburg/. Update: PR206 was recently discontinued as a pigment. Unfortunately, PO48 has been discontinued as well. Williamsburg announced in 2023 that the paint will be discontinued, and that their reserves contain “sufficient inventory to keep these colors available in Williamsburg and QoR through early 2024.” Information about the pigment discontinuation can be found here: https://goldenartistcolors.com/news/2023-product-discontinuations.
