This pigment is available with two different specially-prepared binding oils. The hand-washed linseed oil version is different from the hand-washed walnut oil version. Hand-washed refers to a process that occurs to the oil before the pigment is mixed in, and the pigment is toxic. Warning: Contains lead. While we comment on the toxicity of every painting material is far beyond the scope of this blog (we are artists, not toxicologists after all), we must point out that this is a variety of lead white and that it is very toxic.
