Cadmium Red
Old Holland’s Cadmium Red Purple is a red-purple maroon around 5R 3/6. In tints with Titanium White this color cools to a dusky red-purple which leans toward violet. Similar colors in the space are Maimeri’s Red Purple and Rublev’s Cadmium Maroon. The Old Holland version has medium tinting strength and is slightly more violet than Old Holland Cadmium Red Purple. The Old Holland appears to have a bit more chroma in masstone when dried than the Rublev, however the Rublev is a stronger tinter. While purple is in the name, these hues are nowhere as deep as Williamsburg’s Cadmium Purple, which is a reddish plum color.
