Lead White
Rublev makes several kinds of lead white. The paints labeled Lead White No. 1 and Lead White No. 2 differ in binding oils. This one, No. 2, is bound in Walnut Oil. The paler walnut oil does make a difference to this color. Also please note that in general, genuine lead colors are toxic. As with other artists colors please refer to information from the manufacturer about the composition as well as the risks of handling these materials. The Paint List also recommends seeking the opinions of third party health and safety specialists for information about hazardous materials contained in artist paints.
Please visit the manufacturer website for composition and health and safety information. Please also do your own research and seek third party toxicology experts for information on dealing with specific hazardous materials.
