Natural Red Iron Oxide
One of several different hematites by Rublev, this color starts off brown in masstone and tends toward a cooler muted rosiness in tints. This tone is similar to Vasari’s Venetian Red in this respect with brown masstone and reddish tints. However Rublev’s Hematite is more glossy. One thing we noticed with this color, or perhaps even just our tube of it, was a tendency to color shift when dried. The color almost had a patina when dried. It may be helpful to let a swatch dry to test the color. As a general note for clarity, this color is distinct from their Violet Hematite.
