Yellow Ochre natural
This is a robust high-chroma yellow ochre, and a strong tinter among natural ochres. Williamsburg’s Yellow Ochre Domestic also has a remarkably smooth texture. When combined with Rublev’s Oleogel, Williamsburg’s Yellow Ochre Domestic handles very similarly to Vasari’s Yellow Ochre, which also shares a similar hue. Out of the tube, Williamsburg’s Yellow Ochre Domestic has a bit more body, seems to be a stronger tinter than the Vasari, as well as being more matte in finish than Vasari. A similar paint would be Rublev’s Blue Ridge Yellow Ochre, which is ever so slightly oranger and shares a similar smoothness and tinting strength. Williamsburg’s Yellow Ochre Domestic is one we’d highly recommend on the palette as well as any time a person is looking for a natural ochre that is warm and bright with a smooth consistency.
