Phthalo Green Blue Shade
Williamsburg’s Phthalo Green is the bluer form of Phthalo, a gemlike blue-green. This color is a strong tinter with high chroma tints. This color is part of the slightly warmer contingent of PG7 colors, that is to say not the bluest PG7. This color is similar to Michael Harding and Vasari, however the Williamsburg was the strongest tinter of the three.
This color is part of their Modern Colors series: “Crisp and bright, with the ability to produce strong and clean tints. Modern colors are an excellent choice for painters looking to supplement their traditional colors with higher chroma alternatives and contemporary painters looking to explore a modern palette.” In 2023, Golden published a vital series of tests on their colors and how they performed in mixes with various white paints.
