This chromatic orange occupies its own niche on the spectrum of high end cadmiums. Among cadmium oranges it is a bit of a redder one, but not nearly as red as Old Holland’s Cadmium Orange or even Rublev’s relatively redder Cadmium Orange. Michael Harding’s Cadmium Orange is somewhere between these and the hues of Vasari Cadmium Orange or perhaps Old Holland Cadmium Yellow Orange which are yellower hues of orange. High chroma in masstone, Michael Harding’s Cadmium Orange is not the strongest tinter in its category, it is about on par with Vasari Cadmium Orange for tinting strength. Overall a lovely unique color in the spectrum of high-end cadmium oranges.
