Cadmium Red
This color is one of the more workable Gamblin Cadmium Reds. It is easier to spread than Cadmium Red Light and much different from the quite stiff Cadmium Red Deep. Gamblin’s Cadmium Red Medium is pleasant to move with a palette knife, still lends itself to impasto, and is a bit less stand-up than other Gamblin colors. When spread thinly with a palette knife it has a bit of a calcium carbonate feeling. It dries fairly matte. Terrific high chroma.
From a previous description: ”Cadmium Red Medium is a dark red, ideal for various tints of an apple's skin or to capture the morning light.“ -Gamblin Oils. Color temperature is listed as warm.
