Phthalo Green Yellow Shade
Gamblin’s Phthalo Emerald is a chromatic phthalo green that leans yellow (as opposed to PG7). This color is not a super strong tinter in comparison to premium brands, and when thinned shows a bit of a slight milkiness compared to some other brands, however it is suitably chromatic. This could be helpful if looking for a weaker tinting phthalo than say Williamsburg or Michael Harding. It is also not the most yellow-leaning PG36. The paint has a slight waxiness or cohesive feel when working with large quantities. Overall it is chromatic in tints.
A previous color description from Gamblin: “"Phthalo Emerald (Green Yellow Shade) is a warm version of Phthalo Green with bright tints and cool tones.“ -Gamblin Oils. Gamblin classifies this color as warm.
