This is a fairly broad name space, and unfortunately when historical palettes are discussed, a precise identification is sometimes lacking.

Yellow lake is often transparent and fugitive. Sometimes Yellow Lake could refer to genuine Gamboge NY24, extinct Indian Yellow NY20, Quercitron NY13, Buckthorn Berries NY14 or other yellow colorants.
